Education and Awareness Program:
Our organization emphasizes education and awareness programs. These initiatives aim to empower individuals with knowledge about domestic violence, its signs, and available resources. By raising awareness, we strive to prevent abuse, break the cycle of violence, and create a community that values and protects every member. Through educational workshops, seminars, and resources, we contribute to building a society that is informed, supportive, and committed to ending domestic violence.
At Strengthening Families Values Forum, we are committed to connecting people and resources in the realms of education, research, and advocacy through a trauma-informed approach. Our current focus is on serving victims of domestic violence, specifically those experiencing an ongoing pattern of coercion, intimidation, and emotional abuse, often reinforced by the use and threat of physical and/or sexual violence.
Advocacy for Increased Safety:
Our primary goal in advocacy is to enhance safety for victims of domestic violence. We achieve this by closely listening to individuals, understanding their unique situations, and connecting them with the information, resources, and support necessary for making informed decisions.
Tailored Support and Action Plans:
Advocacy at Strengthening Families involves collaborating with victims of domestic violence to identify their individual needs as they aspire to live a life free from abuse. We then develop customized action plans to meet those needs. This may range from providing supportive listening and risk evaluation to offering assistance when a victim’s abuser has been arrested or aiding in filing a restraining order when necessary.
Systemic Advocacy for Fairness:
Our advocacy efforts extend beyond individual support to working towards making legal and social systems more effective, fair, and accessible to victims of domestic violence. We believe in creating an environment where individuals can seek justice and support without barriers.
All our advocacy services, including education and awareness programs, are provided free of charge and are treated with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring a safe and secure space for those seeking assistance.
