Individual Counseling Program

Individual Counseling Services

At Catapult Outreach, individual counseling is provided by trained advocates who offer trauma-informed, non-clinical support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our advocacy-based counseling services create a safe, confidential space for survivors to process emotions, develop safety plans, and receive empowerment-focused guidance.

24-Hour Crisis Line Support

When you contact our 24-Hour Crisis Line, you are immediately connected to compassionate advocates ready to assist you. Our support includes:

Comprehensive Assessment: A detailed assessment helps us understand your unique needs and experiences to ensure the support we provide is personalized and effective.

  • Free 15-Minute Consultation with a Therapist: Every caller has the opportunity for a free consultation with an LCSWA to discuss immediate concerns and explore available counseling options.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Following the consultation, we conduct a detailed assessment to understand your unique needs, experiences, and circumstances. This ensures that the support we provide is tailored and effective.

One-on-One Counseling Sessions with Advocates

After the assessment, survivors can participate in individual counseling sessions with our trained advocates. These non-clinical sessions focus on:

  • Emotional Regulation: Helping survivors manage emotions and regain control.
  • Safety Planning: Developing personalized safety strategies.
  • Stress Management: Providing techniques to cope with trauma and daily challenges.
  • Empowerment Strategies: Encouraging survivors to set goals, build confidence, and move forward.

Safety Planning and Decision-Making

Throughout the counseling process, our team supports survivors in creating individualized safety plans to enhance security and help make informed decisions. Safety planning may include:

  • Developing a strategy to leave an abusive environment, if needed.
  • Identifying critical resources and building a supportive network.
  • Building resilience and coping strategies for long-term recovery.

Referral for Psychotherapy Services

While our advocates provide individual counseling, survivors needing clinical therapy for trauma, PTSD, or mental health disorders will be referred to licensed mental health professionals specializing in psychotherapy. These services include EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and other evidence-based treatments.

Free Services: No Cost to Survivors

Catapult Outreach ensures that all individual counseling services are provided free of charge. Survivors who require licensed therapy services will be connected to our trusted mental health partners for specialized support.

Take the First Step: Assessment for Programs

To better understand your situation and provide tailored resources, we offer a Referral and Risk Assessment Form. This form allows survivors to:

  • Request Enrollment in our programs and services.
  • Provide Critical Information to connect with the right resources for your needs.
  • Develop a Personalized Safety Plan to address immediate safety concerns.

Confidentiality: Your responses are kept strictly confidential and are used solely to ensure you receive the support and assistance you need.
