Pillars in the Community
Catapult Outreach’s “Pillars in the Community” is a vital annual giving program that relies on financial commitments from dedicated religious establishments. Through annual donations, supporters contribute to the organization’s mission of assisting families affected by domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault using a trauma-informed approach. The program plays a crucial role in sustaining efforts to eliminate abuse, reinforce family values, and promote positive change within communities. Urgent need is to receive donations to our Emergency Housing Fund. Donations can be made through the donation page using credit or debit cards.
Faith Based Advocacy
Catapult Outreach’s Faith-Based Advocacy initiative, launched in Indian Trail, North Carolina, and extended to Rock Hill, Chester and Fairfield, South Carolina, involves active collaboration with advocates on the ground. The mission focuses on bridging gaps within local churches, fostering community connections, and establishing partnerships with community pillars to address the challenges faced by victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Through transparent communication, the organization invites individuals to join in being a voice for those in need, emphasizing the collective journey towards healing and empowerment in Union County, North Carolina, York, Chester, and Fairfield Counties in South Carolina. Phase 1 in 2023 has been completed, and Phase 2 in 2024 aims to implement the presence of the Catapult Advocacy team for education and support through the following sessions:
Workshops
Conducting workshops in local churches provides an interactive platform to educate the congregation about the nuances of domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault. These workshops can cover topics such as recognizing warning signs, promoting healthy relationships, and offering resources for support. Workshops can involve open discussions, expert speakers, and practical tools to empower attendees with knowledge and awareness.
Prayer Breakfast
A Prayer Breakfast can serve as a spiritually uplifting and supportive event for the congregation. It provides an opportunity to foster a sense of community while addressing the sensitive issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. Incorporating prayer, reflection, and inspirational messages can contribute to a healing environment. Expert speakers or survivors sharing their stories can bring empathy and understanding to the forefront.
Seminar
Hosting seminars within local churches allows for in-depth exploration of the complexities surrounding domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault. Seminars can delve into the psychological and emotional aspects of trauma, providing attendees with a deeper understanding. Offering practical guidance on intervention, support, and resources ensures that the congregation gains actionable insights to address these issues within their community.
Support Groups
Establishing support groups creates a safe space within local churches where individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault can find solace and understanding. Support groups facilitate open dialogue, enabling survivors to share their experiences, challenges, and successes. Trained facilitators can guide discussions, offering emotional support and practical advice. These groups foster a sense of community, reducing the isolation often experienced by survivors.
Implementation Phases of 2024
Under the dynamic “Boots on the Ground” initiative, Catapult Outreach has strategically outlined several phases to maximize community engagement and support:
Engaging Local Churches in Seven Counties:
Actively involving local churches is a foundational step to create awareness and build a network of support. Through collaboration and dialogue, we aim to establish a strong foundation for community involvement, advocacy, and resource-sharing.
Referring Centers in York, Chester, and Lancaster:
By establishing referral centers in key locations such as York, Chester, and Lancaster, we are creating accessible hubs for individuals seeking assistance. These centers will serve as vital points of contact, connecting those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault with the comprehensive services and resources Catapult Outreach provides.
Reaching Out to Schools in Seven Counties:
Recognizing the critical role schools play in fostering safe environments, we are extending our outreach to educational institutions across the seven counties. This phase involves collaboration with schools to raise awareness, provide educational resources, and offer support mechanisms for students, families, and staff affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
In addition to these outlined phases, Catapult Outreach remains dedicated to exploring and implementing further opportunities through our Community Partnership Services. Our commitment extends to delivering a wide spectrum of comprehensive support services, encompassing emergency shelter, counseling, housing, education and training, legal assistance, and strategic partnerships with community organizations. This holistic approach ensures that survivors have access to essential resources such as food, healthcare, and transportation.
Through these initiatives, Catapult Outreach strives to create a network of support that addresses the diverse needs of individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, fostering a resilient and empowered community.
